After a successful debut at Bondi Junction, Afterpay returned with a fresh and playful bakery inspired activation at Chatswood. The setup featured brand ambassadors handing out mint lamingtons through a charming window, with plinths and a counter displaying the lamingtons in their packaging for extra visual appeal.
Designed to be fun and interactive, the space encouraged passersby to stop, smile, and capture the moment. By blending tactile elements with bright, eye catching details, the activation brought the sweetness of the concept to life once again, leaving Chatswood shoppers with a minty fresh impression of Afterpay.

Following the success of the Bondi Junction activation, Afterpay wanted to bring the same bakery style concept to Chatswood while keeping it fresh and engaging. The aim was to capture the same playful energy that resonated with audiences, while adapting the setup to suit a new space.
The activation needed to attract attention, encourage participation, and create a memorable experience that reflected the Afterpay brand. It also had to be functional and easy to manage within a busy retail environment, ensuring smooth operations while maintaining a polished and instantly recognisable presence.
Minty Fresh Return
We wanted the Chatswood activation to feel familiar yet fresh, building on the success of Bondi Junction while making subtle updates to suit the new space. The design needed to keep the warmth and approachability of the bakery theme while standing out in a high traffic retail environment.
Our focus was on creating interaction and delight. We wanted customers to immediately understand the offer, enjoy the moment, and connect Afterpay with a lighthearted and rewarding experience. Every detail, from the mint coloured accents to the playful service window, was selected to reflect the brand’s personality and encourage engagement.
Balancing creativity with practicality remained a priority. The layout was carefully refined to improve flow and accessibility while making sure every photo captured looked vibrant and on brand. The result was a sweet continuation of Afterpay’s playful storytelling and an experience that was just as irresistible the second time around.

Afterpay once again partnered with David Jones and Tokyo Lamington to deliver a joyful bakery inspired activation, this time at Chatswood. Customers were invited to show their Afterpay app to receive a free limited edition mint lamington, creating a simple yet memorable brand moment that encouraged participation and delight.
The space featured a charming service window where brand ambassadors handed out the treats, adding theatre and warmth to the interaction. Plinths displayed the lamingtons and their packaging, giving the setup structure, accessibility, and a polished, cohesive look.
A bright mint colour palette and playful bakery details helped the activation stand out in a busy retail environment. Placed in a high foot traffic area, the setup drew attention, encouraged engagement, and carried the same buzz from Bondi Junction to Chatswood.
