Afterpay’s refreshed identity was showcased on the Gold Coast with a modular stand finished in their signature Bondi Mint. The design highlighted the brand’s playful edge with sculptural seating and a mirrored ceiling that encouraged social sharing. A pill-shaped counter supported conversations with visitors while doubling as storage, keeping the compact layout functional and clean.
The structure was created to be versatile and travel ready, allowing it to be reconfigured across different venues in Australia and New Zealand. This adaptability ensured that Afterpay could maintain a strong presence while tailoring the footprint to suit each location.
To future proof the build, reusable hero features such as the infinity mirror and pill bar were incorporated. These elements added flexibility and visual impact, ensuring the stand could evolve over time while continuing to deliver engaging and memorable brand experiences.
What the client needed
Afterpay needed a compact and flexible expo stand that could be used at multiple events across Australia and New Zealand. The goal was to maintain a strong brand presence while adapting to different venue sizes and layouts, ensuring consistency and recognisability at every location. The stand also had to showcase key messaging and highlight products effectively, while providing opportunities for visitor engagement through interactive elements. Functionality and portability were essential, as the setup needed to be travel-ready and easy to install and dismantle. Overall, the stand had to deliver impact and attract attention despite its smaller footprint.

We wanted this mini stand to feel like a natural continuation of Afterpay’s larger six by three expo presence while also celebrating its own unique character. Carrying through the brand’s signature mint tones and bold, playful energy was essential to ensure instant recognition and consistency. The challenge was to condense the essence of Afterpay into a smaller footprint without losing the vibrancy, impact, and interactivity that define the brand.
By leaning into clever design choices, we saw this compact stand as an opportunity to prove that scale is not the only measure of success. Every element was considered to maximise visibility and engagement, from eye catching graphics to strategic placement of key messaging. Our goal was to create a stand that not only sparked curiosity but also encouraged conversations, making Afterpay feel approachable and dynamic in any environment. In short, a small stand with a big personality.
How we activated
We always look for ways to future proof event assets, ensuring they work harder across multiple environments rather than being packed away after a single use. For Afterpay, the challenge was to design a stand that could adapt seamlessly to different venues and requirements while still carrying maximum brand impact. Our approach was to create a modular structure that functioned almost like an accordion, expanding or contracting depending on the available footprint.
The flexibility of the build allowed Afterpay to showcase its brand confidently at a wide range of expos and activations, with each setup feeling tailored to the space. Reusable hero features such as the infinity mirror and the pill bar ensured consistency, while also delivering interactive and memorable touchpoints for visitors. This clever balance of adaptability, bold design, and strong engagement elements makes the Afterpay stand one of our favourites to date.
