The Afterpay x Foot Locker “Lace Me Up” activation created a fun, hands-on experience that let customers personalise their new footwear. With on-site customisation, shoppers chose from alternate laces and charms to make their sneakers truly their own.
To access the experience, customers spent a set amount and paid with Afterpay on their new footwear. Once qualified, they were invited to the customisation station, featuring a custom lace fixture, where staff assisted in selecting and applying their chosen accessories. This not only added value to their purchase but also drove excitement and engagement in-store.
The customisation hub was set up within the benchtop space and brought to life with decals and event branding, making it a visible focal point that drew attention and curiosity from other shoppers.
More than just a retail add-on, “Lace Me Up” was an interactive moment of self-expression. It positioned Foot Locker as a destination for both style and experience, while highlighting Afterpay as the payment partner that made these personalised moments possible.

Custom-designed with playful detailing and vibrant colours, the cart served as both a functional display and an eye-catching activation point. It created a fun, fresh brand moment that was impossible to miss, drawing in crowds and making a lasting impression in a busy event environment.

How we activated
We custom created an Afterpay coffee cart for the occasion, serving freshly brewed coffee and branded Afterpay cookies to the waiting crowd.
The cart became a focal point of engagement, drawing people in with its sleek design and playful branding.
It added a warm, welcoming touch to the launch while reinforcing the Afterpay experience in a fun and memorable way.
