Afterpay partnered with Elite Eleven to deliver a sunrise activation at Bondi Beach, bringing together activewear, lifestyle, and wellness in a relaxed coastal setting. The event was designed to capture the energy of early morning movement and community, set against the iconic beach backdrop.
With music, styling, and light hospitality, the activation created an easygoing yet elevated environment that reflected both brands. Guests were invited to engage with the space at their own pace, making it feel more like a lifestyle moment than a traditional event, while reinforcing Afterpay’s connection to accessible, everyday brand experiences.
WHAT THE CLIENT NEEDED
The client needed a simple but elevated brand activation that aligned Afterpay with Elite Eleven in a way that felt authentic to both lifestyle and wellness audiences. The focus was on creating a strong visual and experiential presence without overcomplicating the environment.
It needed to feel natural within a Bondi Beach setting, encourage organic engagement, and appeal to early morning foot traffic and invited guests. Key requirements included light-touch hospitality, subtle but effective branding moments, and a setup that supported both product visibility and social content capture, while maintaining a relaxed and premium feel throughout the experience.
Less Set, More Setting
We saw an opportunity to position the activation as more than a product showcase, instead creating a true lifestyle moment that felt native to Bondi’s early morning culture. The idea was to lean into simplicity and atmosphere, using the natural environment as the hero rather than heavy set design.
We focused on balancing movement, wellness, and community, ensuring the space felt inviting rather than staged. Music, styling details, and light-touch hospitality were considered key drivers in shaping the tone. Rather than over-branding, we wanted the partnership between Afterpay and Elite Eleven to feel integrated and seamless, allowing guests to experience both brands through feeling and interaction rather than overt messaging. This approach aimed to create stronger emotional connection and more organic content moments.
How We Activated
We brought the concept to life through a sunrise beach setup that combined branded styling with an effortless coastal atmosphere. A DJ set the tone for the morning, creating a relaxed and energised soundtrack as guests arrived.
Curated styling moments featured Elite Eleven activewear presented on branded hangers, encouraging interaction and product discovery in a natural way. Light hospitality was provided through tarts and detox-style drinks, reinforcing the wellness focus of the activation.
The layout was intentionally simple to allow flow between touchpoints and maintain an open, breathable environment. Every detail was designed to feel integrated rather than overproduced, supporting both brands equally while keeping the focus on lifestyle. The result was strong on-ground engagement, with guests organically moving through the space and capturing content in a setting that felt authentic, elevated, and aligned with the Bondi beach lifestyle.
