A Little Taste of Home

Sodii stepped into the Sydney Marathon Expo with a brand-new 6x6m activation designed to showcase the next chapter of the brand. Created with an open structure, the space felt bright, open and inviting, while giving Sodii plenty of room to showcase its growing product range.

The activation combined illuminated details, product shelving and strong branded signage with an interactive sampling experience. A dedicated bar gave visitors the opportunity to try the new Sodii range alongside existing favourites, creating a natural point of engagement. From the LED detailing and display shelving through to the House of Salt metal signage and acrylic lightbox, the space brought the Sodii brand to life while encouraging visitors to discover the range.

What the client needed

Somerset Homes needed an activation that would help them stand out within the busy Westfield Southland environment and give shoppers an engaging way to discover their homes and home plans. The space needed to feel bright, welcoming and reflective of the Somerset Homes brand, while providing a practical area for the team to speak with potential customers.

The activation also needed to bring together a number of existing elements, including their large-scale cut-out characters and hired arches, alongside digital content and a space for customer conversations. The challenge was creating a cohesive experience that felt considered and visually engaging, while making the most of the available footprint.

Making Room to Explore

We saw an opportunity to bring all of Somerset Homes’ existing elements together into one cohesive and inviting experience. With the large-scale cut-out characters and colourful arches already creating strong visual moments, the focus was on creating a layout that allowed these elements to stand out while keeping the space functional and easy to navigate.

The overall approach was to keep the activation bright, open and approachable, with the home plans remaining a key focus. We wanted the space to feel welcoming to shoppers passing through the centre, while creating enough visual impact to encourage people to stop and take a closer look. The layout needed to balance the different elements without making the space feel crowded, giving each component room to breathe. We also wanted to create a natural transition from browsing the home plans and digital content to having a conversation with the Somerset Homes team, making the experience feel seamless and inviting.

How we activated

We brought the activation together with a layout that gave each element its own moment while maintaining a clear flow through the space. The hired arches were positioned to showcase Somerset Homes’ home plans, creating clear points of interest for shoppers and giving the home designs a strong presence within the activation. Their large-scale cut-out characters added colour and personality, helping draw attention from the surrounding retail environment and making the space feel more playful and inviting.

At the centre of the experience, we incorporated a branded counter with stools to give the Somerset Homes team a comfortable space to connect with shoppers and have conversations. A TV screen provided an additional touchpoint for digital content, complementing the physical displays and giving visitors another way to explore the Somerset Homes offering. The result was a colourful, functional and welcoming space that brought all the elements together seamlessly while creating a strong presence within the shopping centre naturally.
